Let us do just one thing: seriously examine and weigh those many high expressions that we find in Scripture, in the commands, exhortations, instructions, examples, promises, and prayers recorded in it, all of which describe the one way of life. Then let any reasonable person judge if all of this amounts only to that poor, pitiful, and empty thing that carnal people deem their religion.
